he S80: Redesigned last year to replace the long in the tooth vehicle it replaced, the 2000 Volvo S80 takes on a luxury flare that other automakers should be aware of. Volvo's have been known to be very safe and reliable cars and with that said the same goes with the 2000 Volvo S80. There are some unique powertrains you can get in the S80, first off is a 2.9 L 6-Cylinder or step up to the more powerful 2.8 L 6-Cylinder Twin Turbo that we tested. All of these powertrains are made into a 4-Speed Automatic. On the interior of the S80 you will find it to be quite inviting with soft touch interior accents and couch like seats that will remind you of a Cadillac that your grandparents once owned. The Radio and climate controls tend to face towards the driver rather than the passenger which it makes it pleasing so you can keep your eyes on the road. On the exterior design it's very Volvo familiar here and the headlight wipers give it a strong European flavor. Compared to it's compet
itors the S80 is more trying to compete with Lexus and Cadillac, however the more sportier BMW 5 Series and Audi A6 have better driving dynamics. So is the S80 worth considering?
